MP3 files

Many audio players are able to play mp3 sound files, and will automatically do so when you click on a link to an MP3 file. If you do not already have an audio player on your computer, some of the most popular players are listed below and can be downloaded for free:

If your player software has been installed correctly, an audio clip should automatically start playing whenever you follow a link to a mp3 file. However, if playing does not automatically start you can download and save the file onto your computer before opening it. To do this:

PC users:

  • right-click on the link to display an options menu
  • select 'Save Target As...'
  • (or 'Save Link As...' or equivalent for Netscape/Mozilla Users)
  • save the file to your PC

Mac users:

  • control-click on the link to display an options menu
  • select 'Download link to disk'
  • save the file to your Mac

PDF files
